After a sandwich, hot chocolate and an ice cream at Mornington with Lisa and Kelly, I went to Phillip Island, which is famous for two things; The Formula One Race track and the Penguins Parade. Because I’m not really interested in Formula One, I raced trait to the penguins. Tongue out

The Penguin Parade happens every night at sunset. You can just sit at the beach and wait for the Little Penguins to walk out of the ocean. They come in small groups, 3 to 20 at a time and walk along the beach to find their sand dune burrows. It looks so funny, especially when a larger bird is flying by. They are afraid of them, because some of these birds are their predator. And because it took some effort to get ashore it looks so funny when the whole group turns around to get back in the saver water.

The next day I had one of the most beautiful moments of the whole trip. Smile I went to Wilsons Promontory National Park. Paid my entrance fee, asked for some nice walks and went to the first beach on the map. Even the sand beautiful. Then, a bit further up the beach I saw a slapping tail surrounded by a flock of birds. I thought, “That doesn’t look to good.”. So I ran up to it, the birds flew away. The only thing that was left was this beautiful Draughtboard Shark, with eyes like a tiger. It was totally exhausted. After taking a few pictures, I did my duty. I grabbed him by the tail and dragged him back into the ocean. It was an honour to do and it made me smile for the rest of the day. :)

On my way out of the park, there was a wombat drinking from the road. It was not the best place to do that, so I stopped just in front of him and turned my hazard lights on. Luckily this was appreciated by other drivers. They stopped as well and made some pictures. After a minute of five Mr. Wombat drank enough and disappeared into the bush. And again, it made me happy to help this furry friend.

Out of the blue (and green), there was Lake Entrances. Blue / green river-like lakes with nice beaches. I decided to do some walks out here. But after a few steps already I saw al this litter at that nice beach. (FOR FUCK SAKE, TAKE YOUR STUFF WITH YOU!! Yell Thank you.) And it didn't feel right to just walk along without picking it up. So I made it an one-and-half-hour-clean-the-beach-walk. While I was walking I picked up as much as I could. (I found this huge ray, I placed an empty can next to it, so you can see how big it is.) At the end not just my two hand where full, but my ten finger as well. I had all these things hanging onto my fingers and on these things I hang other things and on…  Finally there was a bin. I threw the rubbish away and my blue fingers turned pink again.

At Eden there was a whale museum dedicated to Old Tom. A notorious killer whale (orca) that led a pack of other orcas to help whalers in Twofold Bay to hunt whales. If they found a victim, one of the orcas went back to the bay, slapped his tail on the water to warn the whalers. While the other orcas guided the victim into the bay the first one even took a rope between his jaws to pull the small boat of the whalers to the victim. (This was clearly visible at the remains of Old Tom. At one side the bottom jaw was warn away.) The orcas also tried to suffocate the whale by blocking the blow hole with their own body. True or fiction, I don’t know. Undecided
